Labor Doula
Constant compassionate care through out your labor, delivery and immediate postpartum period.
As a labor doula I meet with you prenatally, as early in your pregnancy as you wish. I am available to accompany you to prenatal appointments or classes. I can help you understand medical procedures and interventions and am available for any advice or discussion during your pregnancy. I can give suggestions about pregnancy related discomforts, exercise and diet. I will help you put together a birth plan, and facilitate communication between others in your birth team. I like to work with Dads, giving them ideas on how to support their partner during their pregnancy, labor and postpartum. I come to you as early in your labor as you’d like and stay for as long as you want me or about two hours postpartum and then I’ll make a house call on day 3 and usually around 6 weeks. As a doula I do not perform clinical tasks such as vaginal exams, fetal heart tones or blood pressure monitoring.
