Sibling Doula  An experienced mother to help your child understand what’s happening and welcome their new sibling. I’m the mother of six, I know how to talk to kids and take care of them. As a sibling doula I can accompany your child(ren) to your birth place and let them know what’s going on and keep them calm. If they do get scared or just need a break I can take them to the place of your choice and get them calmed down and prepared to meet their new sibling. I can also keep them at your home and bring them to your birth place after the baby is here or whenever you’d like to introduce them. I will meet with your child(ren) at least four times and one of those times I will give them a sibling class. It’s imperative to me that your child(ren) trust me and feel comfortable with me and I am willing to make multiple visits to ensure that they know who I am and that I can be trusted. My focus is solely on the child(ren) and their involvement in the birth. As a sibling doula I provide: On call childcare for your labor and immediate postpartum period A sibling class to help prepare them for the arrival of their new sibling Answer their questions about labor and birth, and help them feel comfortable with what they see or hear Advice for parents on how to help their child adjust to the new baby
